CARING FOR CANVAS / KNIT

Depending on the colour of your new kicks, canvas and knit can stain easily. We recommend using a waterproofer before wear to prevent any mishaps and taking them to a dry cleaners if large stains occur.

Remember to always cover any embellishments before waterproofing.

We love a sparkle here at SM and although we use expert craftsmanship to ensure durability these delicate fabrications may come off with wear. We often include a spare trim but prevention is key! Be extra careful when wearing your special occasion shoes to keep them looking fresh.

CARING FOR SUEDE

SUEDE

Suede is one of our faves but does need a little more TLC than other fabrications. Due to it being prone to watermarks, we recommend waterproofing before your first wear. If your suede babies mark up or you feel the suede is looking a little flat, use a suede brush to plush out the upper and remove any marks with a suede shampoo.

Remember to always cover any embellishments before waterproofing. To guard against the elements, try our Water & Stain Repellent spray, ensuring your suede wonders stay pristine no matter what.

Start with a gentle wipe using a dry cloth, banishing dust and smudges. For those stubborn marks, apply our rapid water & stain repellent to a cloth and wipe again. Top it off with a little buffing using a microfibre cloth to restore your shoes’ patent shine.

SATIN SHOES

To care for satin shoes, avoid stains by being mindful of where you wear them. Clean gently with a damp cloth or a mixture of mild detergent and water for stubborn stains. Air dry naturally, avoiding direct heat. Store in a cool, dry place, stuffed with tissue paper. Protect against moisture and water with a fabric protector. Satin is a delicate fabric, ensure that you handle your shoes with care to prevent snags and stretching.

To keep your shoes looking sharp, start by wiping them down with a damp cloth to remove surface dirt. For stubborn stains, mix mild soap with water and gently scrub using a soft brush. Prevent stains and water damage by using our stain and water repellent. Allow your shoes to air dry naturally, away from direct heat sources. To maintain their shape, stuff them with newspaper or shoe trees when not in use. Be sure to store your faux leather faves in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
